Mission:

To work closely with the Rowing Program Director and other coaches to develop a highly competitive public school rowing team for underserved Philadelphia youth.

Assistant Crew Coach: Friends Select School, located in Center City Philadelphia, seeks candidates for Assistant Crew Coach. This position will be responsible for assisting the Varsity Coach and will posses prior competitive rowing experience, prior coaching experience, CPR/First Aid Certification and excellent communication and motivational skills.

The William Penn Charter School, an independent Quaker school located in the East Falls neighborhood of Philadelphia is seeking applicants for a coach (with the possibility of being Head Coach this season or next) for its coed team for the Spring 2012 season. Penn Charter Rowing, entering its 4th season, rows out of the Vesper Boathouse. We are looking for a dynamic, knowledgeable, and flexible sculling coach with a great sense of humor. The ideal candidate will be responsible for working with both the novice and varsity teams. Interested candidates should have collegiate rowing/coxing experience and at least one year of coaching experience.

Practices are held Monday-Friday from 3:15-6:00pm and Saturday mornings. All regattas are on Sundays.

The Friends of NDA Rowing (The Academy of Notre Dame de Namur) in Villanova, Pa. seek qualified coaches for its women’s crew program. Notre Dame has 10+ years of crew history and has consistently placed in city, regional and National championships. Bishop Eustace, a College Preparatory School, located along the Cooper River in Pennsauken, NJ, is in search of a head coach and assistant crew coaches for the 2011-12 season. The team has 60+ rowers in grades 9-12. Practices are held on weekday afternoons and Saturday mornings from September to May. The student-athletes are extremely motivated and competitive. This past spring the Women’s Varsity Lightweight 8 placed 1st at Nationals and our Men’s Varsity Lightweight 8 placed 2nd. The fleet includes 8’s and 4’s and we have a team equipment manager that will work with the head coach on minor repairs and maintenance of equipment. All coaches will report directly to the school Athletic Director, and the program has a strong parent group that supports the events of the student-athletes.

The coaching positions are part-time stipend positions contracted through the school. Candidates are encouraged to submit resumes to athletics@eustace.org.

Haddonfield High School Crew Team (Haddonfield, NJ) is looking for Assistant Coaches to add to our staff in preparation for the fall 2011 season. HCC rows out of the Cooper River Boathouse and runs a fall and spring competitive program that includes winter conditioning. The Assistant Coach will report to the Head Coach and will help with implementing the program. This includes helping execute daily after school practices and race day coaching, care and maintenance of equipment, communication with athletes and parents, and other such duties as may be requested by the Head Coach.

Candidates should be mature experienced rowers and demonstrate an enthusiastic approach to teaching and team. This is an afternoon program, schedule availability is a must. Compensation will be commensurate with experience level.
