USRowing Age Time Adjustments

Start with the crew's average age. Go across to the column with boat class (1x, 2x, etc.) and note the time. This is subtracted from the crew's time, usually after the race.

If all crews in the race are the same age category (A, B, etc.) time adjustments are NOT used. They are only used if crews from two or more different categories compete in the same event. Usually, only contiguous age categories are grouped. So, A and B together, but not A and C (if there are also B's entered).

Here are some examples of how I'd group:

Example 1
Entered: five B's and one E.
Grouped: all together in same race.

Example 2
Entered: one B, one C, and two D's
Grouped: all together in same race.

Example 3
Entered: three A's, six B's, three C's, one D, one E, one F
Grouped: A's in one race, B's in another race, C's, D, E, and F together in another race.
