Philadelphia Girls’ Rowing Club

The Philadelphia Girls’ Rowing Club seeks coaches for their spring /summer Novice Masters program, Masters Improve Rowing Techniques program and for their Summer Junior Racing program. Candidates must have previous coaching experience and should be experienced rowers. The Novice Masters and the Improve Techniques program are afternoon sculling programs; the summer junior program is a morning program. Schedule availability is a must. Compensation will be commensurate with experience level.

Haddonfield High School

Haddonfield High School Crew Club (Haddonfield, NJ) is looking for an Assistant Coach to begin immediately in preparation for the Spring 2013 season.  The Assistant Coach will report to the Head Coach and will help with implementing the program.  This includes helping execute daily after school practices and race day coaching, care and maintenance of equipment, communication with athletes and parents, and other such duties as may be requested by the Head Coach.

HCC practices out of the Cooper River Boathouse in Pennsauken, NJ with the current practice schedule consisting of weekday practices from 3:00 to 6:00pm and Saturday mornings.  The team competes in PSRA sponsored events as well as the Stotesbury and Scholastic Regattas which are held generally on Sundays at the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia and/or Cooper River in New Jersey from March through late May. 

Candidates should be experienced rowers and demonstrate an enthusiastic approach to teaching the team. This is an afternoon program, schedule availability is a must. Compensation will be commensurate with experience level.

We are seeking a Head Coach to take the helm of our crew program that supports both sculling and sweep rowing. This is a unique opportunity to build your own program. We have a new revamped parents group eager to help you in what ever capacity required.

Our Lady of Mercy Academy is located at 1001 Main Road, Newfield NJ 08344.

We row out of the Vineland/OLMA boat house located in Vineland on the Maurice River. Indoor practice facilities are held at Our Lady of Mercy’s school and at St. Augustine Prep in Richland, NJ.Currently indoor practices are 2 days a week at each location.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • NCAA Rowing experience
  • Previous head coaching experience desired

  • Ability to organize the program and implement in a way to motivate and develop the crews skills

Philadelphia City Rowing - Director of Rowing

The Director of Rowing for Philadelphia City Rowing is an integral part of the success of the program. This person, through knowledge, expertise and leadership will serve as a role model to the youth participating in the program.  Preparedness, organization and communication skills are essential at fulfilling this role.  

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Head Coach of PCR to ensure the success of both the boys and girls team.
  • Handle organizational details for all practices and races including team warm-ups, line-ups, daily practice routines and race registration.
  • Keep attendance records and update database as needed.
  • Arrange for team transportation, movement of boats to and from storage, attend Fall Speaker series workshops and work with Parent Booster Club.
  • Work collaboratively with the Executive Director and other coaches to monitor academic progress and attendance of all participants.
  • Work with staff to maintain the boatyard, equipment and launches. Major repairs will be outsourced to boat wrights or engine repairpersons at the discretion of the Executive Director.
  • Recruit, manage and supervise other coaches and volunteers to maintain a safe, productive environment.
  • Assist in management of budget for rowing related items. Track all receipts and purchase tokens and snacks as needed.
  • Attend regularly scheduled meetings with the Executive Director, PYSC and other staff. 
  • Supervise and hire staff for Learn to Row Summer Camp for 60-80 youth each summer.
  • Design, implement and coach the winter training program for current and potential competitive athletes. 
  • Work collaboratively with the Executive Director to develop, implement, and evaluate strategies for increasing access and inclusivity in rowing and fundraising strategies.
  • Actively assist in the recruiting and retention process for participants.
  • Assist in planning and implementation of season ending events, provide monthly updates for the newsletter and website and represent PCR to the broader community.
  • Work specifically with juniors and seniors to identify colleges and guide them through the process of applying to the school, applying for financial aid and speaking with coaches.
  • Explore scholarship opportunities available for PCR Rowers.
  • Serve as Head Coach of PCR to ensure the success of both the boys and girls team.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven (results-based) record of success in coaching/racing.
  • Prior experience in supervisory/director role.
  • Experience with youth from a diverse background.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and assist with conflict resolution.
  • Ability to drive a launch and maintain CPR Certification and pass background checks.

Conestoga seeks 2 Assistant Coaches 

Conestoga Crew Club (“CCC”), a competitive, co-educational, high school sculling club affiliated with Conestoga High School in Berwyn, PA, is seeking 2 Assistant Rowing Coaches. CCC rows out of Bachelors Barge Club on Philadelphia’s Boathouse Row. The club consisted of 48 athletes during the 2012 spring season. In its 14 year history, CCC has established a proud tradition of excellence both on and off the water. Our rowers have achieved substantial success at the local, regional and national levels. The ideal candidates will have rowing and / or coaching experience (with an emphasis on sculling), passion for the sport, excellent organizational and communication skills, and is committed to not only teaching young men and women the sport of rowing, but also committed to developing young men and women who are disciplined, hard-working, committed to the team, and determined. CCC’s season begins with land training in early January, continues with on-the-water training starting in mid-February, and culminates with the racing season which extends from March through June. The Agnes Irwin School, a pre-K through 12 all girls’ school in Rosemont, PA, seeks a Head Coach for its flourishing crew program.  AIS rows out of PGRC on Boathouse Row.

Qualifications:
