Calling all High School Crew teams:
Show Team Pride and Community Caring!
What: The Row Against Hunger is a no-hassle, one-day pledge drive supporting local food cupboards and soup kitchens. Rowers collect pledges from family and friends, then use their regular practice time to Row Against Hunger.
When: Saturday, April 13, 2002, the same day as the 8th annual Walk Against Hunger. The Walk Against Hunger takes place along the river drives and draws over 4,000 walkers.
Why: Believe it or not, over 177,000 households in southeastern Pennsylvania must cut the size of meals or skip them entirely. They may feel hungry, but they cannot afford food.
How: Download the registration form and mail or email it or call Liz Chandler at GPCAH (215-430-0555) or Carolyne Dilgard from Vesper Boat Club (267-258-0579) to register your team today. We will provide you with posters and pledge sheets. T -shirts are also available. On April 13th, a volunteer from GPCAH will take your team's picture and collect pledges.
GPCAH works closely with local soup kitchens and food cupboards to ease the pain of hunger in our neighborhoods of southeastern Pennsylvania. Feel free to give us a call at 215-430-0555 or visit our web sites.
