Starts and Starting Line
- All crews must be near the starting area at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start.
Races are scheduled approximately 8 - 10 minutes apart.
- All races will begin from a floating start. Please instruct coxswains to be alert on the
line. Two false starts may lead to the disqualification of your crew.
Traffic Pattern
- Boats returning to the Canoe Club dock after racing are asked to follow these directions:
Turn below the bridge at the finish line and follow the west side shore back up the river
(stay on the opposite side of Peter's Island from the race course); at the top of Peter's Island stop
and check for traffic or a race; if the race course is clear of boats, cross
over straight across (do not cross at an angle!); once across, hug the east
side shore up to the dock.
Bow Balls and Bow Numbers
All boats must have a bow ball and their own bow numbers. Bow numbers aid the
finish line with crew identification.
Dock Master
The Dock Master at the Canoe Club is in absolute charge of traffic at the docks.
Please have your crew check their equipment before launching.
Protests
Any protests must be filed on the water by the crew immediately following the race -
before the official reports of the time. This must be followed with a formal protest in writing and a deposit of
$25.00 to the Chief Judge in the finish line tower.
Race Results
Race results will be posted at the finish line. Results will be posted on the Schuylkill Navy
web page by the following Wednesday.
Medals
Only First Place medals will be awarded. They will be awarded at the finish line dock after each
race. Please use caution in this area: be alert to races still on the course and to the returning traffic
pattern. The Bill Braxton Memorial Cup, the Theresa Braxton Trophy and the Coletta Family
Trophy will be awarded after the last event of the day.
Lunches
Lunches will be provided to as many traveling crews as possible. The crews receiving lunches will be notified at Check-In.
Please be sure to pick up the necessary form so that your crew can receive their lunches, which will be distributed to
coaches at the Sunday morning meeting.
First Aid/Emergencies
In the event of an emergency, please notify the Regatta Director or Chief Referee.
An ambulance and Emergency Medical Service staff will be available in the parking lot of
the Canoe Club.

diagonal. Do not park on the grass. The police will ticket. The Drive will reopen approximately 45 to 60
