Competitors, some info:

1.The launch area for out-of-town crews is at the Canoe Club along Kelly Drive, next to the St. Joe's boathouse which is further up the river from Boathouse Row. Trailers can park in that lot as well. Kelly Drive will not be closed. Do not park on the grass as you will be ticketed. Boats and trailers can be left overnight but there is no guard. The police are pretty good about keeping an eye on things.
2. There is no registration packet or check-in.
3. At 12:15, come down to the Grandstands at the finish line to watch a "Commodore's Review".
4. Weigh-ins are at #4 Boathouse Row 7 am - 9 am.
5. Most of us who know anything will be at the Finish Line, though the Dockmaster might be kept advised as well.
6. Be sure to have your correct bow number and report to the start on time. Bow numbers will be on sale at the Canoe Club, $12 for a set of six.
7. Good luck.

The following events had only one entrant and will not be run:

In commemoration of its 150th anniversary, Bachelors Barge Club is planning a Commodore's Review, the first in almost 50 years, to be held in conjunction with the Schuylkill Navy Regatta. "Early in the history of the Schuylkill Navy, it was customary to hold each year, usually in conjunction with the Annual Regatta what was known as the "Navy Review", the first being in the Fall of 1858. On these occasions all the Clubs turned out in holiday attire, going through the various maneuvers in fine style, swinging corners, changing partners, etc." This year's Review will be held mid-afternoon during the regatta. Margaret Gordon at Bachelors is setting up the Review and working with representatives from each of the clubs of the Schuylkill Navy.

A completely paperless entry system. Submit all your entries and pay with your VISA credit card at Regatta Central. For USRowing members, Regatta Central maintains a database of members who have sent USRowing a signed waiver that applies to all registered regattas, including the Schuylkill Navy Regatta. Individual USRowing members must fax a signed waiver to USRowing. If you are not a USRowing member or have not sent USRowing a signed waiver, you must still submit a conventional signed waiver to the regatta.

All entries must be entered on-line at Regatta Central by Thursday, June 5. Entries received after this date will be accepted on a "lane available" basis and, if accepted, will incur a $10.00 late fee. The printed Regatta Central invoice, entry fees and competitor waivers are due on Monday, June 10, 2003.

Entry fees: Singles $15.00, Doubles & Pairs, $30.00, Quads & Fours $45.00, Eights $55.00.

Make checks payable to: Schuylkill Navy or pay by credit card at Regatta Central

If you do not pay by credit card, print your Regatta Central invoice and mail it with your waivers and fees to: Schuylkill Navy Regatta, #4 Boathouse Row, Philadelphia, PA 19130.

Waivers - one per competitor must accompany each entry. Individual USRowing members now may sign a waiver only once per year for all USRowing-registered regattas, including the Schuylkill Navy Regatta. Regatta Central will confirm waiver compliance by verifying each entrant's USRowing membership number with USRowing.

Athletes are encouraged to fax their annual waiver to USRowing and ensure that their USRowing member number is included with their roster record in RegattaCentral. Coaches who submit entries for their athletes are encouraged to update their rosters and make sure each athlete's USRowing member number is included in the roster.

Winners of all events will be awarded Schuylkill Navy medals.

All races will be timed with our state-of-the-art high speed, high resolution FinishLynx camera.

Results will be processed and distributed by RaceDay software. Results will be uploaded to our web site within minutes of each races' completion. Results will also be printed at the Canoe Club for visiting crews within minutes of race completion.

Last year's schedule is our best pre-race guestimate of this year's schedule.

Masters crews are reminded of the rule requiring them to report any line-up changes in writing not less than 2 hours prior to the start of the race. This allows the regatta committee time to recompute the age handicap and announce it to the other competitors prior to the start of the race. Violators risk disqualification.
