Parking restrictions during the regatta
Parking pass - download and print it. It can be printed in black and white.
- Friday, July 2 - Kelly Drive will close after the morning rush hour, about 9 am. Once the Drive is closed, parking will be permitted on Kelly Drive. Only boat trailers and regatta officials will be permitted to park in the Canoe Club parking lot. Vehicles with boats carried on the top will be permitted into the Canoe Club parking lot to drop off their boat but must then depart. Parking will be very tight in the Canoe Club parking lot. If you are arriving before the Drive closes, we recommend you park in the parking lot near the grandstands and finish line and walk back to the Canoe Club.
- Saturday, July 3 - Kelly Drive will be closed for the regatta and parking will be permitted on Kelly Drive. Only boat trailers and regatta officials will be permitted to park in the Canoe Club parking lot.
- Sunday, July 4 - No parking on Kelly Drive on the race course or at Boathouse Row. Due to preparations for the Sunoco Welcome America festivities and national security concerns related to the presentation of the Liberty Medal to Afghanistan president Hamid Karzai, there will be no parking anywhere on Kelly Drive on Sunday, July 4. All parking will be on the ballfields up on the plateau above Kelly Drive. We will provide shuttle buses. The Drive will close around noon but no regatta traffic will be permitted to park on Kelly Drive. To get to the parking area:
- While Kelly Drive is still open, go inbound on Kelly past the race course towards Boathouse Row and take the first left onto Fountain Green Road, about a 1/4 mile past the finish line at Grant's statue.
- After Kelly Drive closes, the police will direct you at barricades under Strawberry Mansion bridge. You will turn left, go up the hill and turn right to the parking.
You will need our parking pass the get thru the barricades. Download and print it.
Here's the procedure to make a late entry:
- Go to Regatta Central and create a log-in ID, if you don't already have on. Ignore the warnings that the entry window is closed. Create a log-in ID.
- Send me an email listing the event you want to enter and your club. Don't send line-ups or anything else. I'll check if there is still a lane available. If there is, I will set the permissives at Regatta Central to allow you to complete the process. I will send you an email and tell you whether your late entry can be accepted. We will hold the lane for you for 24 hours to giev you time to complete the next step. If you have not completed the process within 24 hours, we will make the lane available for other late entry requests.
- Return to Regatta Central and make the late entry. You MUST pay the entry fee and the $10 per boat late fee by credit card at that time.
Send me an email like the example below. We need the names and dates of birth for the substitutes, not the ages.

While this example is intended to show the format for masters lineup changes, knowledgeable competitors will also notice another problem. This is an attempt to replace the entire crew. The Rules of Rowing state: "Once an entry has been submitted and the deadline for (changes) has passed, a crew other than a single may substitute up to one half of its rowers, as well as the coxswain". In submitting substitutes for both rowers in a double, White House RC has attempted to circumvent the 50% substitution rule, yet another example of its willful disregard of the rules of law.
