- The link to the
regatta schedule is at the bottom of the page, but please read these notes first.
- With the two boat race format, it is imperative that you give timely notice if you decide not to participate. Just drop Clete an email. Better yet, don't decide not to participate.
- The course will be open for practice on Friday, Oct. 20, 2 pm to 6 pm (dusk).
- There will be a boat tour of the race course on Friday, Oct. 20, at 5 pm. If you are not famiiliar with the race course we strongly encourage you to take the boat tour. The boat holds 80 people and has a bar. You must arrive no later than 4:30 pm to get a spot.
- Coaches and coxswains meeting at 8 am and again at 10 am Saturday. You can attend either one.
- We could use a few more volunteers to help with:
- Dock control
- Trailer parking on Friday afternoon, 2 to 6 pm, and Saturday from 8 am to noon.
- Results at both Bartram's Garden and the finish line
- Timing, both at the start and the finish
- If you can help, drop me a note indicating your preference (or none, if you have none) and available times.
- We need a few outboard engines. If you are coming from out of town and can bring an engine and its gas can and hose, please let me know.
- If you are bringing a boat trailer, go to Botanic Avenue, not Bartram's Garden. The two are adjacent to one another, but the directions are a little different.
- We will have security at Botanic Avenue and Bartram's Garden starting at 2 pm Friday, thru the end of the regatta.
- Bring boat slings. It is a short walk from the trailer area to the launch dock and you may want to stage your boat there (there is plenty of room) before you launch.
- Bring a 5 gallon gas can. We'll need to borrow a few for motorboat gas.
- Free T shirts - Pick up your T-shirt at the Bartram's Garden admin building at the top of the hill any time Saturday. Each athlete and coach must pick up his or her own shirt. Coaches cannot pick them up for the whole team.
- Lane 1 is the green lane and rows on the east side. Lane 2 is the blue lane and rows more towards the center.
- Lane 3 - Several events have a boat racing in "lane 3". There is no lane 3. Boat assigned to lane 3 will start 30 seconds after the first two boats and will race in the green lane (east side). If lane 3 overtakes either boat, lane 3 will pass in the other lane: If passing the green (east side) lane, pass in the blue lane. If passing the blue lane, pass in the green lane.
- Free trolley service from finish to Bartram's Garden and back, leaving every 30 minutes. 10 minute walk from Boathouse Row to finish, then catch the trolley.
- And here is the
Schuylkill Banks Regatta schedule.
