Regrettably, the 2006 Independence Day Regatta has been cancelled. River conditions are not predicted to return to levels that would permit safe and fair racing on Saturday or Sunday.
Pictures and links to tons of information are posted below. Be sure to check out Sue Casey's photo album, taken Wednesday evening.
Another opportunity for juniors to race is the Philadelphia Youth Regatta on July 15. The Middle States Regatta is July 16. And masters can look forward to the Quaker City Masters Regatta on August 5.
Thanks for your support. We'll look forward to seeing you at the 2007 Independence Day Regatta.

Real time water level and flow rate info is available on the
USGS web site.
The National Weather Service predicts thunderstorms and more rain thru the weekend.
Revised 2006 race schedule posted, June 26 - minor revisions throughout

- Weigh-ins will be held at the Canoe Club each day. No weigh-ins at Boathouse Row. 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Friday and 6:30 to 10:00 on Saturday and Sunday.

- Womens intermediate double has 24 boats, so will have heats on Friday with semi-finals on Saturday morning and finals Saturday afternoon.
- Masters, novice singles and parent/child races are 1000 meters.
- Octuple race will be age handicapped. You must notify me if you change your line-up, with names and dates of birth.
- We've added a Junior Octuple race. Malta Boat Club has offered a trophy. It will not be listed on Regatta Central. Send Clete an e-mail if you want to enter. Include the names and dates of birth. Girls crews welcome. Entry deadline June 29.
- The safest and fairest way to run 247 races in July heat is to keep the regatta on schedule. We will be ruthless in starting races on time and will not hold races for any reason. Races will not be delayed for crews that are late to the line for any reason. Crews should be in their lanes and, for 2000 meter races, locked onto the stake boat two minutes before the start of their race.
- Bow numbers - It's the only way we can tell who you are as you cross the finish line. Each crew must supply its own bow numbers. Bow numbers will not be provided; however, bow numbers will be available for sale at the Regatta Headquarters tent at the Canoe Club, $12 for a set of 6.
Here is the schedule and other reports:
