The 82nd Annual Stotesbury Cup Regatta
May 16 & 17, 2008
Stotesbury Cup Inclement Weather Alternative Plan
Every effort will be made to run all races within the given two days of the regatta. However, the safety of the rowers is our first priority, and in the event of dangerous weather conditions such as lightning and very high winds, the schedule may be amended as follows.
In case of dangerous weather conditions on Friday, all time trials will be held for all events even if these have to be carried into Saturday.
If this delay affects the Saturday schedule or if weather conditions are dangerous on Saturday, events will be eliminated in the following order:
Freshmen 8s
JV 2Xs
JV 4Xs
JV 4+s
2nd 8s
JV 8s
V1Xs
V2Xs
Ltwt. 4s
V4Xs
Ltwt 8s
V4+s
V8s
If high winds make racing dangerous for small boats but do not interfere with larger boats, races for all singles and doubles may be cancelled or postponed before races for larger boats.
Events that are suspended due to dangerous weather conditions may be rescheduled later in the day, weather permitting and at the discretion of the race committee.
Medals will NOT be awarded based on times from time trials or semifinals. If a final cannot be held for an event, that event is considered cancelled and no award for named event will be recorded.
The committee and the referees reserve the right to alter the stated alternative plan if unusual circumstances do occur. USRowing Rules of racing apply regarding crew substitutions.
It is the responsibility of each coach to be aware of the above contingency plan and to inform school administrators, his or her rowers, and their parents of the plan and its end results.
