By this race the rollers were bad enough that the Yale JV almost sank.
Dartmouth and the Yale 3V were close after 750 meters when Dartmouth 7
man broke an oar handle and jumped overboard (brrrrrr! NOT a good idea) hence no
time was taken. In the interest of safety the varsity race was not rowed. After a 3
hour delay Scott and I decided on a non-race and went out to do 6 x 500 meters
on the only rowable stretch of water. Yale won all six by about one length.
