St. Joe's eight wins final race in Flick series

The varsity eight of St. Joseph's Prep surged into the forefront of local schoolboy rowing by winning the last of the five Flick-Horvat Cup races of the Philadelphia Scholastic Rowing Association yesterday on the Schuylkill.

In the process, the Hawks handed Monsignor Bonner's crew its first loss of the season and outrowed La Salle, the impressive winner of last week's race. Bonner, which won the first three races in the series, lost by 1 1/4 boat lengths.
