Event 51 - Womens Varsity 8

This was one of the most exciting races of the day. Irwin, Prendergast, and Episcopal rowed side by side the entire race. Episcopal led the first half of the race, but never by more than a few seats. By the top of the island, Prendergast and Irwin had pushed through Episcopal, who looked to be fading. With 200 meters to go, Prendergast was ahead, but Irwin put on a tremendous sprint to come from three seats down and win by two or three seats.
