How to Advance in the Top Ten

There are several ways to advance in the Top Ten rankings:

1. Any regatta on the Schuylkill River, USRowing National Selection Regattas, or USRowing National Championship Regatta – Only head to head competition counts. So, if you have a faster time in the open single, for example, than a higher ranked competitor in the light single in the same regatta, it doesn’t count. 2000 meter races only. Heats don’t count; finals only. NSR time trials are helpful.

2. Challenge races – Individuals may challenge another individual or individuals to a challenge race.

You can only challenge up to three rankings above you. Therefore, if unranked, you cannot challenge higher than the 7th ranked rower.
The rowers select a mutually agreeable date and observer.
The challenged rower must agree to race within 4 weeks of the challenge, or forfeit the challenge.
Notify me when you’ve agreed upon a race date and observer. Let me know who won the race.
The Schuylkill Navy will arbitrate any disputes.

3. Rules subject to revision at my whim.
